Scott C. Nye, PT
Scott graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Physical Therapy from University of Health Sciences/Chicago Medical School (now Rosalind Franklin University of Health Sciences) in 1978. He attended graduate school at Northwestern University in the Advanced Orthopedic Physical Therapy Masters program in 1984-1985, and completed his advanced clinical residency in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy in 1985. Scott has been a consultant for the development of the Physical Therapy Curriculum at Midwestern University, and lab instructor at Northwestern University Physical Therapy School.
In 1990, after 12 years of clinical practice at St. Francis Hospital in Blue Island, Scott opened the outpatient private practice, Orland Therapy Specialists, Ltd. He has been providing quality, individualized manual orthopedic physical therapy services to Orland Park and the surrounding community, since that time.
Scott has used his experience as a competitive marathon runner, cyclist and triathlete in the treatment of other athletes and patients.
Scott is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists, the American Physical Therapy Association, Orthopedic and Private Practice Sections of the A.P.T.A., the Illinois Physical Therapy Association, and the Illinois Physical Therapy Private Practice Forum.
Tala K. Fakhouri, PT, DPT
Tala K. Fakhouri graduated with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Midwestern University College of Health Sciences in 2008. In 2005, she received a Bachelor of Science in Movement Sciences from the University of Illinois- Chicago. Her clinical experiences include multiple affiliations at hospitals and outpatient facilities throughout the Chicagoland area. Tala has treated patients at Riverside Healthcare in Kankakee IL, Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey IL, Evanston Northwestern Healthcare at the Old Orchard Clinic in Skokie IL, and here at Orland Therapy Specialists. The majority of her time has been spent treating individuals with various orthopedic and neurological conditions. Her treatment approach involves a combination of manual therapy and therapeutic exercises in the rehabilitation of spinal and extremity disorders.
Tala has collaborated in the development and implementation of community projects including a server injury prevention workshop for Leona's Restaurant employees. She was also a consultant for the wound care service expansion of Advocate Good Shepard Hospital Rehabilitation Services. In addition to this, she has aided in research investigating the presence of diabetes mellitus among homeless individuals residing at Hesed House in Aurora, IL.
Julie Swan, PT
Julie graduated with a Master's in Physical Therapy from Marquette University in 2003. She began working as a physical therapist at Orland Therapy Specialists in June 2003 where she learned a great deal and grew as a therapist. Julie and her husband moved to Phoenix, Arizona in November 2005, where Julie began to work in the field of pediatric physical therapy. In December of 2008, Julie and her husband moved back from Arizona and Julie rejoined the Orland Therapy Specialists team.
Julie has completed continuing education courses in a variety of topics including orthopedic assessment, Augmented Soft Tissue Mobilization, Myofascial Release, and various pediatric topics.
Julie uses a combination of therapeutic exercises and manual therapy to effectively treat her clients.
